Welcome
Welcome!
The course comprises a brief introduction module, four ‘Nutrition essentials’ modules, interactive discussions, insights for day-to-day practice, a recorded GP workshop and an assignment. We anticipate this will take approximately 8 hours to complete. Some students finish the course in just 6 weeks whereas others may prefer to take up to 6 months.
The assignment must be submitted within 6 months of enrollment, and then passed, in order to complete the course. If you are a DFN member, you will have access to the materials for as long as you are a member, but still have the 6 month deadline to complete the assignment.
Featuring experienced doctors and dietitians, you’ll access some of Doctors For Nutrition’s most popular online presentations as well as new material purpose-built for this course. Once you’ve finished the required tasks, including the feedback form and passing the assignment, you’ll be emailed a certificate of completion.
Soon you will be able to review the assignment task, which we recommend reading over to understand what is required. However, we encourage you to wait until you have finished all of the other modules before completing the assignment, as the information contained in those modules will assist you.
We encourage you to take part in the opportunities for discussion. Each module offers the chance to discuss learning via the Comments section at the bottom of the page (in modules where there are multiple videos, you’ll find them on the last video). Please answer the discussion questions as you go through the course – starting with the discussion in this module! Active engagement in discussions within this course is anticipated to be constructive and courteous. Failure to comply may result in removal.
Doctors For Nutrition’s free ‘Clinicians toolkit‘ is a great resource to support you through the course. We invite you to download it.
The activity has been approved for 8 CPD hours by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) and 8 PDP hours with the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM). There is a feedback form within the course, which is mandatory for course completion, and it is also where a member of RACGP can report any aspect of this activity to RACGP if desired.
